Voice.com/VoiceAssist is a website developed to aid students with visual disability or dyslexia in their studies
Inspiration : Reading through the EdTech challenge made me ponder over the kind of difficulties visually impaired and dyslexic students go through while trying to learn. I read online and found out that 'voice tutorials' is a solution which stands common to both these categories of students. Therefore, I decided to come up with this web app which uses VoiceRSS API for Text to Speech conversion of files uploaded in plain text format and provides interactive controls like gesture controls and play a selected text to cater to the special needs of these students.
Target User : Students who are visually impaired or students who are suffering from dyslexia.
Features Proud Of : Am really proud of the web app on whole, not solely for its implementation, but for the cause it was being developed. I will try to enhance it and get this production ready in near future.
Future Changes : Ability to create accounts and upload text tutorials
